Dedicated globe-totters and long-term club members Max and Margaret Pemberton have been regular players at Woodbridge Tennis Club, and this year are celebrating their 50th anniversary of club membership!
What are your earliest memories of playing tennis?
Margaret and I met on a tennis court in about 1960. We were both members of the Charsfield Tennis Club.
How long have you both been playing at the club?
This is our 50th year as member of the Woodbridge Tennis Club, and I have served as treasurer and chairman.
What do you enjoy about tennis?
We enjoy playing in the fresh air, and it is a good way of keeping fit.
Who are your all-time tennis heroes?
Rod Laver and Chris Evert.
What is the best part of your game?
We will leave others to comment on our game. It’s not too late to improve!
What do you like doing away from the court?
We both enjoy walking, ballroom dancing and gardening. Above all, we love to travel and are fortunate to have been able to go all over the world. We particularly like cruising – to date we have completed over 40 river and sea cruises.
What makes Woodbridge Tennis Club special?
We have always loved the club play at Woodbridge and have made so many friends over the years.
